When trying to follow a million topics, are we really focusing on any of them?
Out of focus is a work that invites reflection. In times of technology that allows the generation of images at an unprecedented rate (not always with quality, by the way), we are bombarded daily with an amount of content that was unimaginable just a few years ago.
The complexity and endless quantity of subjects, images, topics, daily news and others is represented here by the tangle of white threads arranged on a black background. Our eyes, in a frustrated attempt to follow them, are represented here by the way the threads are distributed in the space of the image.
We, poor humans, continue to be trapped in a day of only 24 hours. As much as we would like to, it is impossible to read all the publications, watch all the videos, like all the images...
About the technique: to create this work I used one of my previous images as a starting point. After selecting, cropping, applying filters to the layer, and making some small adjustments I was able to successfully materialize the design that was in my mind.
